Accessibility statement

Last updated: 2026-10-09

Our commitment

We want 1family.Home to be accessible and available to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing process: we keep improving the Site, and invite you to tell us about any problem you ran into.

The accessibility menu on the Site

A round accessibility button appears in the corner of the screen, on every page. It opens a menu with text size increase and decrease (80% to 150%), high contrast, grayscale, underlined links, a readable font, stopping animations and a large mouse cursor, with a reset button. The preferences are kept in the browser and loaded on your next visit.

The Site also respects the operating system’s "reduce motion" setting, with no need for the menu.

What is done in the Site’s code

The Site is available in Hebrew (right to left) and English (left to right), with the language and direction set on the page. There is a "Skip to main content" link for keyboard users, dialogs that close with Escape, keep focus inside and return it on closing, and a visible focus indicator on interactive elements. The icon buttons in the main menus have a description for screen readers.

This is an ongoing process, not a one-off project. Some parts of the Site, such as the family tree canvas and the drawing board, are visual components that depend on a mouse or touch, and have accessibility limitations. We are working on alternatives.

What is still ahead

We do not claim full compliance with the Israeli standard 5568 or with level AA of WCAG. No review by a certified accessibility auditor has been done, and we do not want to promise more than what was actually checked. If you ran into difficulty using the Site because of a disability, we would be glad to know and to deal with it.

How to report a problem

You can write to us at 1familyhomeapp@gmail.com, or to your family’s admin. It helps to describe the problem, on which page it happened and which browser or device you used. We will try to reply and deal with it soon.
